A daily blog covering events at the Hackney House pop-up showcase has been running throughout the Olympics, courtesy of the journalism department at City University.
Hackney House has been set up by the London Borough of Hackney, supported by the Tech City Investment Organisation, in an effort to attract investment to the area. Themed days across the fortnight have highlighted the best Hackney has to offer in areas such as technology, design, fashion and food. Evening entertainment has featured the Guillemots, Paloma Faith and Labrinth.
City University is one of the sponsors of Hackney House. Its blog features news, reviews, photography and tweets.
City’s journalism school is regarded by many as the finest in the country, with alumni including BBC newscaster Sophie Rayworth, Grazia editor Jane Bruton and Guardian writer Decca Aitkenhead.
